Euphyllia Cristata (Grape Coral). Lets see em!

Don't see these much. Just got my first one yesterday. It hasn't opened yet, but I will get pics later when it does.
Who else has one to share?

Teal tipped gold stem Cristata - can't tell that all too well from the picture, but it is the best I could do with my phone's camera.

My tank is a 29 gallon. I have two Kessil A360X lights on my tank. Never ramp it up past 60% intensity. I actually need more flow overall, as I only have a Hydor Koralia Nano 425gph powerhead for flow (return pump is 210 I think? Can't remember). And the coral itself is about halfway up the tank, and on the opposite side of the the tank from the powerhead in a lowish-medium flow area.

I'd reduce light intensity for awhile over it. Likely acclimation shock do to lights and or water parameter change from what it was use to.
Place on the sand bed or under some shaded area for awhile.

I have 2 pieces from one colony. One is in a spot that is a bit shaded. The other is under moderate light. The one under moderate light is actually opening a little more.
When I asked my LFS, he said they can take higher light than hammers & frogspawn.
I was actually considering moving one of them up into higher light.

I agree - well said. There is a lot of coral skeleton showing so I'd also be a bit concerned with flow. Specifically direct. I have one I recently purchased. I'll see if I can get a photo of it.

A lot shorter tentacles than a torch, hammer, or frogspawn.

I suspect I have one lol. It was sold to me as a torch but looks more like a grape. It was more sensitive to light shock than my hammers and seems to prefer less light overall. When I moved it to higher light it lost color and stressed so it’s back under the edge of an acro. It seems to be a slow grower as well. I’m not sure if I have a pic, but will try to get one.

Ok. I cracked the code...
High light low flow.

Shut off the pumps to change water yesterday and noticed both colonies starting to show better extension.
The one in higher light showed the most improvement.

So, I changed the water and moved both colonies up to higher light and found areas somewhat sheltered from flow.

Both are looking much better today!

#2 still isn't as happy, as its getting quite a bit more flow, but I'm hoping it will acclimate.

It's in a 240 now lit by MH and T-5s with 2 MP 60s set at 100%

If you search for bubble coral, that wouldn't be what is returned (video example below). Yours, that is more along the lines of a Frogspawn. Search and it will be closer to what you have.

So how big (tall and wide) is it now after 2 years? I just bought a little one - maybe a bit smaller than your original picture, and am trying to figure out growth trajectory for placement.
