Looking for though on this rainbow coral, everything saying hammer but the enlarged septa seem to look like a cristata

Cristata don't have large polyps like that. They also don't have a hammer or bubble shape.

It's either the recently reclassified hammer, or a bubble coral (leaning more so in hammer territory given pictures)

Looks like a Bubble coral, you can see the distinctive skeleton showing on the bottom of the first picture. I haven’t seen a hammer with that same skeleton, the second picture makes this very confusing lol.

Do you feel my confusion now? Lol

I also haven’t seen a Hammer coral with enlarged septa, the only coral I ever seen with enlarged septa is the cristata, but they normally similar to a torch not a hammer, colour wise even though it’s not fully coloured yet as it was shaded in the shop, I has the most crazy green I’ve seen (visible in the pic under whites, under blue it shows a crazy orange and yellows near the tips similar to the WTB gold rainbow but with more orange in it. Definitely not a bubble as those colours don’t exist on them. It’s a confusing one to id

Few more pics if it helps under blues

Just bumping once more

Euphyllia cristata. They can exhibit rather large costae, kinda like plerogyra, but the polyp/tentacle is that of euphyllia. The polyp/tentacle of plerogyra are more lobe /grape like.

Still confused as its definitely not a bubble coral

Sent it to a expert, see if I get any news....
