Should the coral polyps be almost drained before dipping in Bayer or any other coral dip so the coral takes in as little as possible of the pesticide to minimize what it releases back into the tank after rinsing? I'm dipping for Brown Flatworms. I'm going to dip about 60 corals in my 40b frag tank. About half are just frags but some have a little size to them. Some are on frag plug, some on rocks. I've read about remounting them to minimize absorption of the pesticide. So I'm going to do that but I'm worried about the absorption in the LPS polyps. And the amount of corals I have to dip. I'm planning in the next few weeks to setup two more tanks, a 36 and another 40b but I don't want these guys growing anymore in population. I thought about just doing maybe 10 a day and dropping them back in the tank just to put a dent in their numbers to check them in check, but I also would like to give the frag tank a good cleaning. I tried Flatworm exit and it did knock them down but it didnt wipe them out. My 40 at the moment is tied in to my 90 DT sump so I have a lot on the line if I dont do this right. Plus I love seeing the Good bugs in the tank and dont want to wipe them out. What is in the 40b: 9 yo Black Oscillate, and a young Blood Oscillate and a young Yellow Tang. What is in the 90: 8 yo Yellow Tang, Sailfin Tang, Two Scopus Tangs, Coral Beauty, Scooter Blenny,Yellow Tail Damsel, 10 yo Oscillate Clown, Sexy Shrimp, 50 hermits, Snails, Brittle Stars and pods. In the sump I have a 10 yo Gold Stripe Maroon ( who at this time is out of solitary and in General Population with two young Blood Oscillate Clowns for taking a few bites out of my lobo). The 90 is a mixed Reef which after the frag tank is cleaned out I want to do the display. That I just seen the first few on a hammer Coral. The flatworm Exit would probably work great on the display since I haven't seen many in there and Im hoping old scooter is dinning on them as he drifts around the tank. I've been really thinking about just adding a couple spotted Mandarins to keep the display cleaned up of flatworms. My DT is almost 2 yo. And just so you know, I'm with these tanks all day everyday. I have them at my shop. I also have a 60 frag tank with 7 fish in it and it is full with corals and frags also.
