Euphyllia grow better in colony or single head?

So what are peoples thoughts or experience on growth from euphyllia when in a colony or single head? I have a decent colony of Gold Torch 6-7 heads but it's restricted where it is placed in my tank and actually has some dead heads that tried to grow. I don't really have another place to put it ATM, but I can trim it and place single head(s) but don't want to do this if growth will be stunted. Thanks
