Hello, fairly new to keep corals, I’ve had my tank overall for 10 months. Last month I bought my first pair of hammers then a week after got my torch coral, I won’t be adding new ones for a couple months (want these to fully establish themselves and grow). The first pics are when I first got them, and the 2nd set of pics are of today. Now to me they look healthy and great as I said Im a little new to having corals and judging by the fact that each coral is and behaves differently I just wanted to get other peoples opinions on them!

Here are more recent pics of them!

I don’t spot feed them they get fed when I feed my fish with the leftover frozen food that moves in the tank, BUT if y’all do recommend spot feeding I will totally do that as well! I love my tank and this hobby I really want to see these babies grow! Also if there is a way to post videos let me know! I was trying to post one but I guess it doesn’t allow me to?

In the white light pictures the torch and the hammer on the right both look slightly retracted. If they’re looking like that all the time I’d double check all my parameters, but if just temporary I wouldn’t worry about it. What kind of lighting do you have them under? Euphyllia (technically the hammers are Fimbriaphyllia) like slightly elevated magnesium (1400-1500ppm), otherwise you’ll just want to ensure that your Alk, calcium, and nutrients are stable. You want 5-15ppm for nitrates and 0.03-0.08ppm for phosphates. So long as the lighting is adequate but not too strong, and parameters are stable, they should do just fine. For the hammers you want medium to medium-low flow and for the torch medium to medium-high.

Here’s another pic took just now! I do need to get a alk tester, my cal has recently been between 350-400 and mag between 1550-1600. Lighting and flow is stock fluval 13.5 with the addition of a wave maker! As for the retraction my torch has kind of always been like that but never smaller than how it is now except at night when all the lights are off and I turn the lights back on the in morning, and the hammer that’s fairly recent it is usually about the same size has the other! I will be testing the parameters again tomorrow once i’m out from work! I’ll update them here as well!
