My tank have been up for about 1 year now. I've been using Tropic Marin Pro Reef since the start. I've started adding corals 6-7 months ago. I've added Zoas and they are growing. I've been unable to keep euphyllias. I've had a coupled of scolys that didn't make it also. My current parameter (I've been dosing with Brightwell Aquatics Reef code A/B/Mg):
salinity: 1.025
dkh: 9.4-9.6
Mg: 1365
CA: 445
PO4: 0.12
Nitrate: 25
I've measured a few batches of new salt water and the parameters are:
Salinity: 1.025
dkh: 7.7-7.9
Mg: 1290-1305
CA: 400-420

I've noticed that the dkh fluctuates every time I do water changes. I change about 10% every week. I was thinking about stopping the dosing for now and letting the parameters slowly self adjust to the parameters of the salt mix to make the system more stable. I'll be dosing still but water changes shouldn't alter the parameter too much. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That sounds like an ok plan. You could also find a salt mix that mixes to the parameters you want to keep. The latter is what I choose to do.

I still have 2 200 gallon bags of the pro reef left. Would I see any difference between an alkalinity of 7.9 versus 9.5?

I would make that transition over at least two weeks, maybe a month. You can always use two part to increase the alk of your WC water to match your tank water while you're transitioning.

Thanks. I was planning to still dose but limited amount. Probably drop 0.1 alk every 2 days or so.
