Looking to upgrade to a bigger rimless glasses tank maybe 72x24x20. Want to keep lots of wrasses. Will euro brace keep them jump out? I like rimless but I don’t like the look with the net on top specially for a size like that. Any thoughts?

Euro braces do not cover the entire top of the tank so the wrasses could still commit suicide.
Rimless tanks are beautiful but I would never own one for this reason alone. I have several wrasses, I had to build a ramp on my doors to allow them to slide back into the water should they decide to do acrobatics.

IMO it is a matter of time before they go carpet surfing. I had one get spooked and jumped out while I was cleaning their tank. I lost an anthias that was able to jump through a small HOB filter cut out. So I am a believer of some kind of canopy for all my fish tanks.

Do they usually jump on the side so the euro braces should “help” a bit?

Eurobracing is not sufficient to keep jumpers contained. Furthermore, aggressive jumpers such as wrasse will frequently injure themselves by jumping into hard objects such as center braces, glass lids and eurobracing.

IMO, a mesh lid that tightly covers the entire tank is a requirement for keeping jumpers, and all fish can be jumpers!

Euro braces help substantially because most fish dart up the walls of an aquarium, but certain fish (IME fairy/flasher wrasses) don't care about your euro brace and will eventually find a way out of your tank.

I'm a firm believer in net covers. Lost too many fish this way. I didn't like the look at 1st but used to it now & no worries of loosing a beautiful fish.

Yup, rimless with net over doesn’t look good and plus I like birds-view over my corals.

Also with a euro brace you will be limited too your lighting options and have the risk of shading .. just a thought ! I have euro wish I’d gone rimless ......

I've had 4 wrasses in one tank together and none even attempted a jump in 4 years. Lucky I guess. They stay more towads the bottom half of the tank, while the Trigger, puffer and 2 Mag. Foxfaces are in the upper half.

You also realize that a rimless tank that size will have enormous amounts of evaporation, right? My brother was trying to sell his IM Nuvo SR-120 gallon tank on here. It was 72" x 24" x 18" deep and he said the shallowness killed it. So he bought a 210.

If you're interested in a great deal on a year old Nuvo 120 with stand. If interested, https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/1-yr-old-nuvo-sr120-for-sale-on-long-island-lots-included.361277/

He's the pro reefkeeper in the family, lol.

Euro brace is not going to prevent jumping out. I am a wrasse lover myself and I learned my lesson. My tanks are all fully covered by either glass or net. I rely on my sump and skimmer for air exchange.

If you want to keep wrasses responsibly, a net or glass top is pretty much a non-negotiable requirement.
I have a 187 eurobraced tank and when I stir sand or set corals I keep egg crate beneath the tank that each covers 1/3 of the tank. Even with 2/3 covered I have had wrasses jump vacuuming the sandbed or clipping coral.
