I have cut my DT down from 27" to 24" high, it's now 60L x 24"H x 24"W. All glass is 1/2" It has a double bottom. The 2nd bottom piece is 5/8" less. and on top of that it is euro braced with 3" glass strips all the way around. As i would like to have a rimless tank is it necessary to euro brace or some kind of aluminum frame at the top

oh that is a hard one. there are rimless tanks with those dems but I pretty sure there 3/4".
guess it depends on your risk tolerance.

maybe someone with a bit more knowledge and math skills and calculate the deflection of the pressure against the glass.

could also call a few tank builders and ask them what thickness of glass they use on a tank with those dems.
with is just a guess but I think you might need to Eurobrace it.

Yeah those need to be euro braced with that hight and thickness. If you go 3/4” then you might get away without brace however 3/4” thick glass almost triple the cost. I think even the builder will not build the tank if they know thE integrity of the tank required brace. Just my experience when i had mine build 60x30x21” 3/4 thick

are you looking for fully rimless?
My tank is what the manufacturer (Planet Aquariums) called "Trimless" which is your standard black frame around he bottom, but nothing up top, so the bottom is being helped to hold together with the trim. Also my tank is 3/4" glass with a 1" bottom though (72x30x24)

Thanks for the reply, I've ordered 1 1/2 angle metal and will have a frame made THANKS
