hey guys

we just received an order from Eurocorals and one frag (cut to order) was broken off the plug.

So I contacted them and asked if we can work something out.

Answer was: A broken coral is not a dead coral and I should re-glue it on a second plug.

Would you accept that or what would you do?

I would have contacted them as you did expecting something. Even if it was a discount off the next order.
But I would definitely glue that other piece on another plug and now you have 2.

+1 to this.
I mean, although accidental you got 2 corals for the price of one. Also, it could have improved growth due to this. Personally I’d accept it however that’s just me who hates to complain.

Pretty sure "broken in transport" is not DOA. Sellers only cover DOA.

Glue it back down to the plug, or replug it. It will be fine and exactly what I would expect from any seller.

Does DOE cover this issue?
Looks like the seller doesn't use cup to protect the corals.
Generally DOA does not cover a frag that broke because it is still alive.
What we do is:
1) Ship the coral in a cup so that this doesnt happen
2) Extend the time of our DOA guarantee in this case
3) Help the customer resolve the problem and be fully transparent with any questions they may have.

Realistically, this is like a 1-2 week issue until it heals and starts growing but I would def hook up the customer with a freebie or a discount for the next one

Thanks guys! Much appreciated :)
Props to you then, but certainly not normal practices with most vendors. But as you noted, most vendors put portion cups over them to avoid this very thing from happening.

Eurocorals.. well.. the corals they offer are getting smaller and more expensive and since they once sold me a purely blue tenuis as a real Walt Disney..No Sir.. I don't buy anything there anymore.
