i have bought 3 evansi anthias, probably 1 week plus somedays back... finally 2 of them have started coming out but haven't started feeding yet... what to do?

Evansi is a very tricky anthias. They are very timid and extremely picky eaters. If yours are in a community tanks with aggressive eaters the prognosis is not very good; better I f they are in a quieter tank. Either way, just try feeding them a range of foods - smaller foods are better. Also try getting the food moving by putting it into the stream of a power head.

Since they have been hiding does not mean they weren’t eating food floating around. But we should assume they have not just to be safe. they can go for a period of time without eating, but obviously best to see them eat.

If they are not taking food you have my first go to would be black worms if they are available, or fresh ROE from a fish vendor. Larry’s food is good. Also PE mysis and calanus are good choices. Meaty small to food to start. Garlic supplements as mentioned cannot hurt.

You may have to try a few to hit the right one. I would try to fed twice a day, not large amounts but enough it will mix into the water flow to get around them. Give the, lots of chance to eat

You can also try live Brine, but you will want to add something like Selcon or other type of vitamin to them before feeding. The live movement may help trigger their feeding. They are very finicky and if fat can go for weeks without eating before they perrish.
I have 3 Evansi and 1 Princess Anthias and they are pigs. They will eat anything from LRS Fish/Reef frenzy, PE Mysis whole, and even large pieces of seaweed my Blonde Naso tang rips off and leaves behind.

Just make sure they are actually eating and not taking the food in and then spitting it out and swimming off.

I don't know where you live but I have found live gnat (midge, buzzer, mosquito) larva collected from a pond and washed in RO send anthias in a feeding frenzy.

Is this available commercially?
