Hey recently started my IM 40 fusion and I’m curious does everyone else water in the sump evaporate fast.
I lose more than half a gallon everyday in my 75 gallon, but I have metal halides over my tank, which get very hot, so I’m sure that evaporates water a little faster.

My open top 150 with 50 gal sump evaps 1.5 to 2 gal a day. My 58 with glass lid , 10 gal sump evaps 2 gal a week.

I lose 2gallons a day in my 125. Yes a lot. But I have open top and a lot of ventilation

That's a given with any tank and why they have ATO systems. Those were a godsend over the old days of trying to keep up carrying and adding tipoff water. Winter/house heat is the worst but AC is close and of course you will always have some evaporation. I couldn't deal with my 200 w/o an ATO.

My evaporation has been through the roof lately. Even with the wet spring weather I'm going through a liter a week in my 2.5gal. I think the city is putting less molecules in my water.

!!! Welcome to R2R !!! Evaporation volume will occur depending on a few factors like, room temperature, ventilation etc. Sometimes is more at night then at day time. That's why an ATO will keep that in check.

Here’s my IM 40 fusion

Room temperature delta and relative humidity play a huge roll. My tank (180g topless) can go from 2-3 gallons a day during peak summer where the AC is set to 76-77 and runs 6-8 hours a day to barely any in the fall when the inside temp is 72-74
