While doing a routine visit to one of the locals in Portland I ran across some of the most incredible rhodactus mushroom colonies. In the 2nd colony pic the ring is so purple it is just awesome.

Do you like????? Made my mouth water!!!!

The shocking part for me is they really were purple. A lot of times the coral only looks purple under certain lighting, but not these. They really are as purple as shown.

Yes, I like, that is quite a find. Looks like you could shave a tiny one off and send it my way (I'm a reluctant zoa collector, but a closet mushroom collector, and Rhodactis are my favorites)!

Very cool color combo's - nice find.

Might be good to move this to the MUSHROOM forum. Some of those guys might like to look at it also. ;)

Those are real nice Perry....Even a squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

I think the quote is "Even a BLIND squirrel finds a nut every once in a while"

I too like zoas and the other corals, but there is a certain beauty to a nice rock full of mushrooms. My favorite Rhodactis mushroom of all time was Purple, blue, green and white (rings) ...I kick myself quite often that I can't find the only picture I ever had of it as the mushroom simply disappeared one day. My only hope is that when transferring things from my 65 gallon bow to the new 120 gallon tank I find it hidden in the rockwork in the back.

You are quite right......I said it to myself a few times and thought that it wasn't quite right....I figured I would edit it once it came to me, but you beat me to it....

We used to have a few shops here Kalamazoo that would get nice shrooms, but now there is only one that gets anything worth while.....Luckily they set-up a shroom tank about 2 months ago and have been getting in some pretty nice stuff...
