So guys due to a divorce and all that yucky stuff, I no longer have my 90 gallon bowfront reef tank that I loved. I actually dont have any tanks at all :-( I am finally to the point where I am able to get back into the aquaria world and I was thinking how awesome it would be to go with something a good bit larger than my old 90, maybe even double that size!? The problem being when you start looking at 180 and 220 gallon tanks they price of the tank itself it through the roof! I know we see it done all the time on a certain tv show that I woulnt mention ;-) But has anyone here ever made their own tank? Has anyone seen any good threads on here about making your own tank? Id love to have some feedback on this :-) Thanks guys

I built my 310gal. acrylic tank. But it was not my first acrylic build. If you want to learn how, there is a thread on RC. It will give you all the info on how to build a water tight acrylic vessel . It is a very long thread. 100's of pages. But all the info is there.
I would never try to build a large tank for my first project. Can it be done? Sure, but the risk of it failing is very high.
It is not rocket science , but if you dont know what you dont know. You will end up with a huge mess. Along with a huge loss of money.
