Yes. They are a very common fish and also affordable.

I've kept them single, as a pair and once as a group of 5. Not picky eaters, moderately hearty and don't require large tanks if you're just keeping one or 2. It can be hard to pair them but keeping a single one is easy. The most important thing when keeping firefish is they jump a lot and your tank must be covered. Covered with mesh not eggcrate as they can fit through the holes.

I have a pair of Nemateleotris helfrichi's that are doing quite well with my wrasses.

Thanks for your quick replies. I'll have to get a larger piece of plexiglass to cover the top before I get one. Cheers.:)

Had 3 different Dartfish recently.... Flagtail,Exqusive and one more what i can't remember name now.2 jump out of tank and one died yesterday. for no reason. They are very shy and huge jumpers! I also a screen cover and somehow it fit?!

And one more thing.I believe they doing better with very peaceful tank mates.

I've had magnifica and exquisita. Both are pretty easy to keep singly. Mine fared well with a large wrasse population which created competition for food and sleeping quarters.
