hey guys I have some zoas that are giving me a hard time to get open. im running reef radiance Dm-155e fixture over a 40 gallon breeder at 14 inches above the water. blues run at 75percent and whites at 50percent. water parameters read perfect im starting to think the zoas are being affected by the light maybe to intense or to lil. Would like to know what duty you are running your evergrow/chinese box leds on with zoas.

thanks

Definitely to much, try 45-50% Blues and 25-30% White/Colored.PlentyofPAR at these levels for your tank.Cheers, Todd

I agree with both TJs posts. LOL. If they are not used to that kind of light they will not open up for you. It would depend on light they came from and are used to, you'd hav to accilamte them to your lighting.

a lot of times it depends on where the corals come from. I got my corals from lfs that use Radion so when I upgraded to the Chinese LEDS I have no problem with coral opening up. I have mine at 75 white and 80 blue. I got my LED about three weeks ago and acclimation took 1 week

I run evergrows 48 inches of light on my 120. 9.5 inches over tank at 100 blues /100 whites with 2 T5. Some zoa cannot handle high light at least a few PE. Like said if you came from really weak lighting then it may be way over kill right away. I have some zoa acans at the top of my tank.

ive tried moving them to places with shade and nothing to idk if lowering intensity will help. i have no clue what is going on . i made another thread with some pics go check it out
