Everyone’s favorite lights

I’m currently running coral life t5’s but it doesn’t make to coral pop like some aquariums I see on here. It doesn’t have the “blue” look to it. What is everyone’s favorite (yet affordable) lights for reef aquariums.

You can add some LED's for pop. Reefbrite makes some suplimental fixtures just for adding to T5.
I'd personally go with the XHO actinic

I’m so gonna get a rash of abuse for this one, but has down the current orbit marine pro model 4117. They are truly amazing, not super cheap but will stay w the radions and they have a much better spectrum.

I feel dumb never thought about changing a bulb out for a different one. Did you change just one bulb out or both of them?

SB reef light. I got a 16” basic, I love it.
years ago I had HQI de bulbs and compared to the led’s, no contest on how amazing they look.

Sorry for the confusion but the Reefbrite XHO is a separate LED light fixture that fits on the front of your T5 fixture.

I have a couple of Orphek Blue Plus OR2 120's being delivered tomorrow. They are suppose to make the corals pop. I will find out as soon as I get them mounted. I'm running t5 and Kessil's now. You can dial down the kessils and get plenty of florescent pop also.

Ditch coralife bulbs and replace with ATi Blue+, add Orphek bars to the fixture, they are reasonably affordable

This is with my t5 ati blue plus bulbs. Still the corals will glow with the kessils turned to all blue.

Yes but I like to hear what people are using. I’ve done a lot of research. And just can’t decide. And I’ve learned some new lights to research now. Thank you for your input. I appreciate all I can get. I’ll find some new light eventually lol

personally my favorite light hands down...........THE SUN lol sorry I could not help myself.

I also vote changing out the t5 bulbs to some ATI. I have never ran t5 setups but from the pics I see and the bulb combos you pretty much can dial it in to you liking. but if you do need a bit of the LEDs shimmer and POP there are a few bar options out there.

also keep in mind that ppl use filters when taking pics for online then edit the holy crap out of them.

I would price out that option before buying new lights. but if you do decide to go new I would check out refbreeders photon v2 kinda on the affordable side but if you want to spend some cash AI lights are nice I have a prime HD on my little nano its a great light and the app rocks!
