Looking for constrictive criticism on my new planned build. Please back up any negatives with facts! Thank you reefing community

Wow. That's impressive.

Right??? this is just a mock up and its fancier than my set up already. lol.

Only problem I see is there is no fish or corals in your display and that chaeto looks like it needs harvesting, that is packed!! ;Happy

Edit: Oh, and I don't recommend having your fish tank outside... :D

Looks awesome. I would consider raising the mixing station up and adding a tee and a ball valve so you can fill a 5g bucket without using the pump. Just to be on the safe side

Looks good, two things I saw though. One is that I would recommend checking out the BRS 160 lessons learned video. If I remember correctly they regretted plumbing their UV sterilizer like you did and wished they had forced all of their return flow through it rather than just some of the water like you have now.

Second thing is how you have your sump split up, you have your refugium behind your return pumps so it's not clear how you will move water through that area.

Impressive setup though!

Thank you someone else had mentioned that. I watched it What they did was regret adding it to a manifold. I feel like this situation is different since it's theoretically plumbed into my return line. I saw Mr Saltwater Tank did the same on his 775 build. I didn't want to spend the time detailing it. The fuge will be fed by the returns. Here's a mock up of the new sump for clarification.

Cool, is there a reason to feed it separately? Not really up or down side to that configuration that I can tell so just curious.

Looks good. Assuming the two tanks across from the sump are for quarantine, you may want to think about the aerosol transmission of disease. Probably easily solved by using lids on the quarantine tanks.

Yup! They'll have lids, thanks for the reminder!

It allows you to control the flow more precisely. I'll link Geo's video so you can see it.
