Exact iDip Digital Water Testing

Nothing I have heard. I have tried to contact a few more times. Got a few responeses then went silent again. I am still having issues around PH being way off and Calcium numbers being off as well. I am still testing using the idip but also using hanna testesrs as well and using a probe for PH.

I have had issues with the phosphate. I am not sure if it is reading something different from the Hanna checker. When I test a system the checker reads .22. But the iDip tells me it is low. What value can the iDip read before low? Also any word on the new updates? Had a e-mail about it several weeks ago but have not seen anything since.

@Greenstreet.1 its not officially on our website yet, but we do have a new Marine kit! It will include calcium and exchange the current pH for an extended range pH. Some of our distributors already have a few cases and it will be available on our website early next year.

Don't remember the number right now but it's in the booklet that came with it

Thanks. I work on several aquariums and only once got a phosphate reading on the iDip although most of of the systems are around .10 or somewhat higher.

@Mike sokol The Phosphate in your version of the app is 0.09-5 ppm. The app was updated in our test software a few weeks ago (12/8/2015). It should be going live very soon. The new algorithm will be able to detect phosphate down to 0.03 ppm. When you observed that your phosphate results did not match the Hanna, were you able to tell if you got any color development in the sample water when the strip was added? Our new algorithm is much more sensitive at those low ranges.

So you are say the cal strips I have now will still be good but you are updating the cal program ? Don't understand what you me by new kit

I'm pretty sure the marine kit they described a while back was to take out the ammonia and add the calcium. Should be same strips except for ph. I'm pretty sure the THH was gonna change, Christian is that in the new kit yet?

@Christian K . There was no color development that I noticed. I had e-mailed you about bending the strips and I am pretty sure that was when I got a reading of .13 compared to the Hanna checker of .22. Most of the other times I was getting lo on the iDip. I was intending on using a third tester, maybe Elos or NYOS to see what they read. Not the truest believer in the Hanna checkers.

I'm trying to understand what he means by new kit. Cause he also said some of there vendors already started carrying them don't think it's an app cause he said it's not on the site.

@lnevo is right all of the strips are the same, we have just changed the pH. The new THH is not yet ready however we have made quite a bit of progress with that. Our researchers are trying to eliminate the need to do dilutions to test for total hardness.

To clarify the only difference in the kits is which reagents come in the set;
Aquarium: Alk, pH (strips), NH3, PO4, NO3, and THH
Marine: Alk, pH (drops), NH3, PO4, NO3, Ca, and THH

Many of your from MACNA purchased calcium tests separately so the only change will be the pH.

I did just check on our app update for iOS. It has been submitted to Apple. It is taking unusually long for that app to pass through Apple's review process. Usually our app gets approved in about a week and it has been 10 days since we submitted it.

Hopefully the new version will be available very soon.

@Mike sokol since both Hanna and the iDip are based on colorimetric methods (i.e. they measure color development), I would say your LO results on the iDip represent low PO4 levels. From my testing I would expect PO4 around 0.22 ppm to have at least a slight blue color.

The new version of the app will have the Marine Bundle in the "Store" - which for those of you who have already purchased your algorithms wont change anything. Updated algorithms for PO4, NO3, and CA. Also a few bug fixes with saving customers and results.

Christian I purchased the whole kit at MACNA. So I will need to purchase the CA strips then?
