Exact iDip Digital Water Testing

That is the same reason I got it they said that all should be good after this show that's coming up so we will see

I hope so. I've been following this too. I mention it to people as something to look at and watch it's progress. Looks like some good potential here.

They do have new test directions that made the alk and cal test a little more accurate. I will give them that.

What new directions?

I still love mine. I get same results every time I repeat a test. Consistent readings over time. Consistent with changes to my dosing regimen (ie I increase alk by add x amount of supplement and I get the expected result change on my idip). I think it's more accurate than everything else I have tried in regards to testing.

On the app press any test and you will see an instruction tab pop up.

Im happy that it has been accurate for you what test kit are you using to compare ? Or are you using only the Idip ? When I compare it to my salifert test its off last week when I ran a test salifert was 8dkh idip 7.34 dkh

Maybe it's the wrong approach, but I care more about the value being stable. We have such a range with cal and alk thats acceptable but the important thing is stability. As far as comparison, I've only compared hanna, red sea and salifert (nitrate only). For nitrate, phosphate, calcium, I've been spot on. Alk I had some crazy readings but also a lot of variance in my tank. I have not double checked alk and calcium since I got the idip though. I also never got "expected" results when I've tested new saltwater. I can check my alk and calcium again to confirm, but my tank is doing amazing these days.

Magnesium 1360 (red sea)
Calcium 436
Alk 140ppm
Nitrate LO (salifert - 0-0.2ppm)
Phosphate LO (hanna 0.0ppm)

I dose 18ml of alk a day in a 65g to put my usage in perspective.

No3 & po4 are spot on with the idip. The problems comes with alk & cal I understand where you are coming from but I also like to make sure the numbers are correct not just stable. Like when I first got the idip it would tell me 7 and salifert would say 8.

It's hard to compare testing kits to one another. Generally testing one against another will give you different values. Just looking for the kit to be with in a tolerance is best

I understand that but when I'm use to getting 8 from one then gets 7 from the other that could create problems. With that said I have not given up on the idip about to go run some test now.

Idip / salifert
Alk 7.12 / 7-7.3 (much better ready[emoji41])
Cal 524 / 425 [emoji16]
Po4 LO / 0-0.03 (never had a problem)
No3 LO / 2-5 ( same here never had a problem )

Test results was a lot better today except for cal as you can see was way off.

I use mine and like it. I just wish they would fix THH so we could get the MAG. Also it would be nice if the no3 and po4 would read 0 and not "LO"

Hey guys,

We've been using iDip exclusively for our shop tanks and all of our client tanks and we are in love. We use the same marine kit system to test all our reef tanks and our planted freshwater tanks. Brilliant!

We have run extensive tests ourselves to validate the system and so far we have been very satisfied. I think the R2R community will be very interested to hear our findings.

Take a look at this link to read more about it. We recently did more validation tests and will be updating our thread with the new results. Very promising! Let's just say that we now trust it over Red Sea and Hanna test methods!

If you're interested in getting one, consider buying yours through Aqua Lab Aquaria! We are happy to assist you with any questions and are happy to share our tips and findings with the community. Please check the thread above for updates on our findings and the link below to see our product page.
