Maybe I could just set up a triton lab in my basement.....that would solve all of my problems

The background noise from the elements in saltwater causes interference with a test. The the Exact iDip you need to make sure you have the new reagents as Christian had to totally redo the tests for alk and both calcium test to get the interference reduced.

I just bought my kit 3 weeks ago... how do I know if I have the old or new reagents? And who knows how long my kit was sitting on a shelf somewhere.

Have you registered the kit. I got the email today when I got off the plane in Chicago.

I did not... I guess I assumed it did it automatically, through the app, the first time the device connects via BT. That's what I get for assuming.

You can tell if you have the old reagents by looking at the item # on the bottle. Take a look at the link above, you can see the number for the new reagents.

How accurate is this test kit? Anyone tested with referance solution and against other kits? Didn't read the full thread as I'm using my phone ATM.

With the new reagents the test are highly repeatable. From my experience with the new tests.

I could tell the marine alk test was different it was a very strong reagent.

Anybody, allready has experience with the new update(software and reagents)?
i'm still following this product, could be a game changer. but so far it seems accurancy is not there yet. And alot of tests are still out of range for marine aquarium testing. however if they could improve this, i'm definatly intrested.

(sorry for the poor english, i'm from holland)

Would be good if somebody could cross referance with test kits like Hanna and Red Sea

I find Hanna absolutely bang on when tested with reference solution and Res sea just as accurate. I also send off an ICP every 3 months and my Red Sea and Hanna kits are almost identical to the ICP results. Would be awesome if this was just as accurate.

Boy that would be fun.

ICP testing has to be calibrated every few test to keep it correct. An trying to get all the different test kits match out puts would be fun task. Making up a reference solution of the various parameters would need to be freshly made up.
A club member does water testing for the local water company it is quite involved.
