Hello All,

I'd just like to share my experience up till this point with Exotic Marine Systems a sponsor of this forum. I purchased a 20" overflow kit back on March 12th 2019 based on reviews of spectacular service, speed and communication from the seller.

This kit was not marked as out of stock and is not custom. On March 18th after not hearing anything I emailed asking for an update. I DID receive an update on March 19th from the seller saying he was assembling it just then and that he had been swamped with orders. It was also stated that it would ship in the next few days. It is now a week later and I still have not heard anything else.

My entire build is on hold at this point waiting. I will update this as it goes on.

I had a similar issue. Had to email them a few times for updates. Eventually received it a few weeks after order. A little annoying, but very satisfied with quality.

EMS could help themselves out by providing realistic ship dates and keeping the customer informed. It is a little nerve racking ordering from a small company online then wondering if you were taken.

Yes, I sent another email yesterday. I did receive a response within about 1 hour. They stated it will ship today, I have not gotten a notice yet. However, I was told I was lucky it shipped as quickly as it did " two weeks from the date of purchase " because typically the average turn around time is one month. I agree, It would definitely help if this was more visible. I'll update on quality and take pictures once I receive it..

Ive been dealing with them at the moment and i do know who was flying back and fourth and super busy with orders but he always emails back and so far is very helpful. Still would recommend.

Alright, Had not gotten an update since he said he was going to ship it so have been curious what was going on. Finally emailed him asking for a tracking number. Looks like it has shipped. So far my overall opinion is just that there is extremely poor communication.

I'm kind of having the same experience, and while I don't mind the waiting, it would be nice to know the lead time up front.

Received my overflow today, Cannot speak to the quality or loudness of it because it was MISSING the three one inch bulkheads. I of course cannot get them locally so it has effectively delayed me once again. At this point I would NOT recommend this company.

Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. I got a custom 60" from them 3yrs ago and have been nothing but satisfied with the purchase.

At that time it was a side business for the owner. I think he should note shipping times on the site but unless the quality is suffing from success I think you all will be glad you got one.

Yes, It is a very pretty box sitting next to my tank, Absolutely useless without the bulkheads that come with it.

I'm not trying to excuse the missing parts error. But while your waiting for the bulkheads you can go through the mounting process. Bulkheads for the outer box won't stop you from doing that. Marking the position and drilling the holes will take you a little time.

True, I just received a response from them. Apparently all 13 orders shipped out last week were missing the bulkheads.

My wife just let me know that my overflow arrived today, which is exciting, but...it's indeed missing the three smaller bulkheads...
I'm sure he's aware, but did anyone receive an email explaining this or when he would get bulkheads shipped out?

No, I only received an email because I emailed them first asking about them. They stated the bulkheads would be shipped to all orders today via priority USPS.

Took a look at the overflow last night - looks pretty nice. I wonder how the parts are cut out. You can see light scalloping on edges, but they're smooth like they've been buffed or flame polished or something. Pretty nice workmanship overall. I may take a router and round the edges of the overflow cutout slots to make water flow better.
