Experience with Roaps butterflies

Has anyone kept a member of the Roaps subgenus of butterflies? That’s the Burgess, Mitratus, Tinker’s, and Declivis. How do these butterflies fare and anything to watch out for when keeping one? From other sources I’ve gathered such as Scott Michael, Bob Fenner, and Lemon TYK they seem to be among the better butterflies in terms of hardiness.

I haven't worked with a lot of them recently. I bought a declivis in 2017 that I just saw today. It's in our big reef tank, it hasn't grown an inch in almost 5 years. I think I paid $170 wholesale for it. I'm not sure why I bought it, I could have gotten ten regular butterflies for the same price (grin).

Nothing better than a nice big Tinkers though, at least back when you could get them!

I've had some issues with mitratus back in the day, coming in small and thin and just not doing well. Otherwise, they do really well IMO.

Thanks a lot for the info! Any issues with the Burgess? Looks like as long as the specimen is healthy to begin with, shouldn’t have much of an issue.

Sorry, I don't know, I haven't kept a burgess except in a wholesale situation, so never really cared for it....

No worries. But it does seem like barring issues with bad specimens, they do pretty well for the most part.
