Hi Everyone! My name is Todd and though I have had aquariums for 40 years they have all been fish only tanks so several months ago the wife and I set up a 90 gallon tank that had been stored in the garage and put the 55 away. Which at this rate will be set back up as a reef tank as well, in time the wife says. Needless to say a lot of the equipment we had for the 90 had gone bad from sitting and dry rotting or like a $600 light fixture mice decided to make a home out of! Ugh Anyways I have learned a lot by reading all your posts on here and found this is the best one for me to join.

So first question, and I have already started another thread for it, but hey the more help the better. I will keep it shorter here though.

Have any of you had your watchman goby leave it's shrimp to shack up with another goby and it's shrimp? I can find nothing anywhere that talks about this and it is happening in our tank now.

It's possible on account of it being a new tank... Everyone is still trying to figure out their territories, and how to get along with others in the tank. I wouldn't be surprised if the other goby goes to the abandoned shrimp, or if it chases the other one off, then it'll go back to its own shrimp later. And welcome to the forum! ;Woot

Never heard of that one before. lol. Same kind of shrimp?
Yes both candy cane or peppermint shrimp. Seen them called different names. This is the second time this goby has done this. First time it was back to its own shrimp the next day. I am hoping when I get home it is back where it should be, but first thing this morning they were both hanging out in front of the same den/burrow
