Let's here 'em boys and girls. How fast/slow did you go, where did you start/finish, what if any side effects did you notice?

I ask as I'm going to be dropping my tank temp 79.5-80.5 to 77.5-78.5. Thinking I will go half a degree every 3 days or so. I do realize this kind of thing happens naturally in the ocean on it's own, but I'm curious what kind of experiences people have had in their little glass box.

I changed the temp on my tank from 80 - 82º down to 75º with no problems. It may have taken about five hours to lower the temp. At this temp the clown fish and the yellow tail damsels don't spawn any more, but the SPS corals look great.

I have had tanks that would fluctuate a few degrees everyday. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and when it's 105 outside my A/C has a hard time keeping up. Going slow is never a bad thing when changing temp, but going from 80 to 78 is no big deal in my opinion. I would always try to run my tanks at 80 but I never really noticed a change in livestock from about 76 to 82. I never did any experiments or anything though
