Looking into Jeff's overflow and or protein skimmer. Anyone have experience with them? All his products look great.

I have a sump, skimmer, calcium reactor and other small stuff and it is all great. He asks all the important questions and gets it right the first time. His customer service is top notch also, that is extremely important to me and he gets it. You won't be disappointed...

Great thanks! This was what I was looking for.

Jeff is VERY knowledgeable and will steer you in the appropriate direction to what you really need. He doesn't push you to more expensive options and is very patient with answering any questions you have. I'm on his build schedule (Sump, reactors, ATO and water change reservoir) as we speak and can't wait for my build to arrive!! Will be ordering his skimmer when the budget allows for it. Can't beat a product that has remained largely unchanged for decades. If you search enough you will find LR Skimmer owners that have had there skimmer for 15+ years and it's still goin strong.

He answered every question i ask. Own a lifereef skimmer for 2 years and never disappointed

I guess it was about 4 years ago when I bought a third (at least) hand Lifereef skimmer. I talked to Jeff about upgrading the Venturi, but he steered me away from it, saying that the slight performance improvement wasn't worth the cost. I guess he was right because I have to dose nitrates to keep them measurable.

I have had three problems with it, or rather the same problem three times. I've had the Mag 18 pump eat a few snails, and the smashed shells sometimes clog the Venturi. It takes maybe a minute or so to pull it apart and clear the jam.

I'll let you know if the thing ever stops working.

Lifereef filtration is outstanding. I considered it for my last build but ultimately decided to go with Tim Link with Aqualink. I would encourage anyone to check him out. He has over thirty years of experience and is a wealth of. information. His products have superb craftsmanship and he provides very competitive pricing.

cant go wrong with a lifereef skimmer. I bought mine used 0ver 15 years ago and totally blew away the fancy shmanzy needle wheel cone skimmer I tried out.

I don't know alot about LifeReef, but I've heard some positive reviews about them recently. So does this "Jeff" guy that you all are referring to make all of these protein skimmers and sumps himself ? Is he a one man show or does he have a warehouse where these things are built in volume ? The reason I'm asking is because I read somewhere that there is a waiting list for his products, so I'm just trying to figure out how long I might have to wait if I wanted to buy from him.

Just scored a barely used 6 month old Lifereef SVS2-24 skimmer. Needless to say, I'm super stoked! :D

just check his schedule on his website and you will have an idea. I believe the wait is half way into june as of right now. Still worth the wait IMO, just give Jeff a call and get on the schedule. You don't have to know exactly what you want right now but it will hold a spot for you when you do.

I have a compact Berlin sump and SVS2-24 skimmer, as well as a calcium reactor. All of these are made very well and work perfectly. I think that skimmers and overflows are stock items, but if you want a sump, it will take some time.

I was going to go with his overflow originally but ended up drilling my tank. Try googling lifereef overflow failure, you won't find anything. Pretty much sums up his quality there. And yes I believe his skimmers and overflows are stock as stated above, unless you want custom colors.
