Experiences with pods and algae reactors / scrubbers

Has anyone had success or any other experiences growing pods in algae scrubbers or chaeto reactors, Specifically enough for 2 mandarins and wrasse?
Any tips or past / current experiences are greatly apreshiated

I run both an algae scrubber and a refugium. I keep a mandarin and a diamond goby. It's hard to see pods, but I've never once seen my mandarin eat prepared food and he's doing fine. So pods are definitely coming from somewhere.
