So the past few months I've had 3 scollys die and 3 that are almost about to die. I've had acans die and blastoma too . But lately acans are doing good but still having problems with scollys. I'm trying to figure out whether it's my lights or water quality. So I did a little experiment. I baught a very healthy Lobo this weekend and placed it where I usually put scollys . On the sand bed left center of the tank. And it bleached and did the same exact thing the scollys do. They turn dark in the center by the mouth and loose tissue. Whats strange is everything else in the tank is doing well. Why does it affect these corals. I have a bowerbanki 4 inches away thats thriving. I just don't get it does anyone have any idea what can be happening here. I'll send pictures. It's a 65 gallon reef with a small hang on refugium. I run biopellets in a small reactor rowaphos in another small reactor and carbon. The seachem renew carbon. Flow is 2 ai Nero5s and two small koralias lights are the first gen ai hydra Vegas. These lights were made in 2013. Yes they need to be upgraded. Im definitely working on that. They run at 100% blues 5% green and red 15% white and 95% violet. This problem has to be eather lighting or water quality. I need help trying to figure out which one it is.

Had some 7 year old acans die recently too. About 5 colonies. Have you sent in an ICP test?

I would start there. PO4 seems high to me. Target level is about 0.03-0.05. I have seen good success with higher levels if you can hold that value steady.

Man.. this is driving me absolutely freaking crazy. Why is everything else ok but not these two kinds of corals..
Reef world man. I have acros doing great. Acans dying..no idea why. Have you also checked for pests? Dipped any of the ones having issues?

Do you run a skimmer? I’ve had good luck with both LPS and SPS using a skimmer. Small bag of carbon run passive and either a sock or pinky floss. Weekly small water change. KZ zeostart dosed minimal helps to handle the p04. I got rid of reactors, GFO, algae reactors and lights. Back to the basics. Food for thought.

Yes .. I dipped all scollys in revive by two little fishies. . thats all I have for now as far as dip.
UWC makes a coral dip. Smells strong but corals react like it’s a spa day, seems soothing to them. That’s my dip of choice after trying a few.

Yes.. I run a skimmer.. eshopps 120. I also keep my reef at 77 degrees . So its colder than some tanks out there.. I herd on another thread here that scollys like that

I have them at 78, feed them Coral Frenzy small pellets once a week, everything else comes from water. Mine are in flow, and light. I know some people say the opposite.

So I have my ICP test results. I have high levels if zinc.
