hey everyone tonight i recieved my new jebao sw-8 powerheads. and i am shutting down my current undergravel filter and essentially turning it into a plenum. but modified. i believe my pumps will give me ample surface agitation for gas exchange, my only worries is with and ill effects as in ammonia spikes or any other bad things tank is only 3 1/2 months old and i only have 3 fish in a 120g. any advice or constructive criticism is welcome. do you all think ill be ok? it was my only mechanical filtration atm. im fowlr except im caring for a condy from a crashed tank untill his tank is ready again.

Hydrogen sulfide bubbles may form under the under gravel filter eventually and when released may kill fish. By product of decomposition. just a thought for the long term
