Size Tank? Size of sand grains? Tank size if up to you but as for sand their really is no right answer. I prefer the sugar fine sand while some guys like the crushed coral and anything in between. What kind of corals do you want to keep?
I like the next step up from sugar grain size. That way it wont be blown around with a lot of flow.
Also, when I had the really fine grain sand, it would solidify if it wasnt stirred often. (not like to concrete but if you were to stick your finger in it, there would be golfball size chunks instead of sand)
