Exposed magnet in 3k gyre

I was looking over a ic 3k gyre I have and I noticed that the magnet seems to be exposed. I doubt this is safe right? Even a corned or the magnet is chipped off. There are small particles of magnet stuck to the large magnet. Won't this leach heavy medals?

Can someone check their 3k and see if the magnet is exposed?

All the magnets are exposed, it won't hurt anything. I've been running one for a year now and no corrosion at all. The magnets are reef safe, nothing to worry about.

So ferrite magnets are reef safe? That's good to know. I have some baffles I want to cover up In a sump with white light blockers. I was going to make epoxy covered magnets but if ferrite is safe.... I'll just use those.

Yes farrate should be safe for underwater use but are not as strong as other magnets

Would need a large one like pictured to get holding strength , providing that is what it is...i use large plastic sealed magnets for my floating coral display products, but buy in bulk to offset cost and insure holding strength
