Hi all,
I just got a new exquisite. He is very thin. I've had him 3 days and have not seen him eat. Offered him frozen mysis and fresh baby brine shrimp. Today his head is white. He did have stringy poop the first day I had him.

Since I can't get him to eat what is my best course of action?

I would get him into QT and start dosing the water with General Cure in hopes he’ll ingest enough through the water to knock the internal parasites down enough you can start lacing his food with it to finish them off.
Or you can dose just straight metronidazole (seachem metro) at 2 scoops per 10G in QT. Metro is best for Hexamita but GC has Prazi and metro in it.

He is in QT
I don't have GC but I have both prazipro and metroplex
The metroplex container said 1 scoop per 10 gallons. I did that.

Should I increase the amount of metroplex?
Should I add prazipro?

You can safely double the dose of metro, I always dose two scoops per 10G when in QT. I would hold off on the Prazi as it can suppress appetite. GC has both but in lower doses. Try the metro alone

Done. Thanks for hte quick response. Hopefully its enough to save him.

+1 on the meds, you can try live black worms to trigger a feeding response. Usually they cant resist live black worms.
I don't have access to black worms or white worms. That's why I'm trying hatching brine shrimp.

Baby brine will work also. If you havent tried tropical fish stores usually have them and petland discount too

I have petsmart and petco. No LFS within 120 miles.
I do have a baby brine hatchery and have been adding many during the day. He doesn't go for them, but I will keep trying.

Dudette ;)
I posted on our local FB group to see if anyone has them. Worth a shot for certain! Thx for the idea!

Ahhh ! Lol I'm sure the FB group will work, if you was in NYC I would recommend stores that sell them or give you some of mine, I'm growing them.
