EXTENSION CORD FOR TUNZE 6095

I have two Tunze Turbelle 6095. I have a 6' long 30" tall tank plus stand. The cord between the 6095 power head and where I need to place the controllers is not near long enough so that I can place two 2 wave pumps at each end.

Is there an extension cord available or does anyone know of a way to make or have experience making an extension cord?

The hack would be to cut the cord in the middle and add wires to extend, connecting the cut pieces, should be 2 or 3 conductors.
