Hey all. I about 8 months ago I broke down my 90 gallon reef due to aptasia running rampid and started up a small Aqueon frameless cube with homemade rock scaping. It is ok but I feel like I was missing something. I remembered I have been trying to sell my old 40 breeder tank with DIY stand but nobody has bitten. Anyways, I just made a huge purchase WWC and it had me thinking... I'm gunna need a bigger tank. So here we go.
Current setup which will be going in the new tank. My clown is old and cranky. He's gotta be over 12 years old. He lasted through Hurricane Sandy when everythingelse died. My coral frags I have are Bam Bams, Rostas, Red Hornets, Cornbread Rainbow Infusions, Sunny Delights and King Midas.
I think I'm done. Spent 2 days on making these rocks. So, the paper height and box outline is the 40 breeder tank size. The dog treats and rock form is the rock in the little cube tank imagined. What do you think?
Almost done filling the tank. Got about 30 more gallons or less including the sump to fill up. Tomorrow my corals come in from WWC. I'll throw them in the established tank for a bit. I'll update when they come in. Just a heads up though, I got like 37 frags coming so tomorrow will be a busy day.
I have 2 of these sca aquariums sump skimmers. Both pumps are bad on them but I just ordered 1 new one. It's still a garbage pump that only lasts a year. I was trying to find a comparable pump to the cheap chinese Ph2000 pump that comes with these but didn't find any useful info. I'm going to have to use the higher one for this sump. Darn epoxy is all over my fingers, can't type anymore. Until next time.
Yes definately. So I added chaeto in the sump and transferred the led light for it. Repaired the sump with the new moter and it has been working great. Everything is doing great and I really haven'tlost anything from the transistion. Just 1 of the blue holes isn't looking too great. They never wanna feed so I don'tknow how they are eating. I'll share some pictures.
So I went to Reef-A-Palooza NY and got some stuff. Some zoas already melted away such as some Mary Janes and Rastas I had purchased there. Other than that, added a baby clown. They are getting along very well. The BTA anemones are still doing good.
Some mystery zoas in trying to identify. I feel like I've seen the yellow rings before but can't place them. Also I have no idea what this yellow and blue zoa is. If anyone knows just shout it out.
