I am looking for a external pump for my 120 build. I want one that is big enough, and has enough pressure, to power my entire tank. Looking for returns, Beckett style skimmer , and bio reactor. There won't be much head height, maybe 4 feet.

The biggest issue is going to be noise though. I know externals aren't silent, but I would like a quiet one. Currently looking at either a reeflo hammerhead or a panworld 250 PS .

I have a used blue line 70 that was used about 3 months then I took my tank down and cleaned pump and put away in a box. I have a buddy that runs his entire 120 gallon system and manifold with this same pump. It will be a little noisy as are most larger external pumps. If interested let me know and I will make you a good deal on it. You can also check into the new DC pumps as they might also serve your purpose.

Blue line look like panworld. One and the same?

I don't expect silent, but this tank is a in wall in the living room. I just don't want a loud him or whine

Yes they are almost the same......

I know the dc pumps are pretty quiet and you will have a better shot at it with the dc pumps! I was just throwing out the option if you wanted to buy a blue line I have one and if you put the pump on some type of foam pad then that will quiet it down even more.

I am sold on the newer DC pumps. I an running a 3 reactors and my return on a DC6000 on a 150 gallon tank and it has plenty of flow for me. But I am one that thinks that anything faster than a skimmer is rated, is just a waste. Or more than 3-5x turnover
