External Skimmer Feed Pump Question

I have a MRC Orca Pro II external skimmer with a reeflo feed pump.

The reeflo feed pump is extremely hot to touch while running.

Is this normal?

Yes. Mine runs very warm as it has nylon interior parts and only area water cooled
The fan is at rear acting as heat exhaust and offers very little cooling for the housing
