If you had extra cash laying around, let's just say approx $ 700.00
Would you buy a BUNCH of average looking LPS / SPS ..OR..would you buy a FEW high end LPS / SPS.

Depending on the tank size I had.... Smaller tank less real estate I'd go for higher end... Larger tank I think I would get some unknown and see how they grow out...

Depends on what you find "appealing"

Naturally I gravitate towards the high end pieces. I like purchasing small high-end frags sparingly and watching them grow out opposed to completely stocking my tank with pieces that grow like weeds which I'll no longer want in a few months.

Fwiw, Ive seen many higher end sps that weren't nearly as nice as say a $50 frag. I wouldn't focus on price as much as the coral itself. Some higher end sps look great as ''frags'' and thats about it. I'd pick a $50-$80 Palmers blue milli, Pink lemonade, Red planet, Oregon tort, Pearlberry, Superman table, etc.. any day over the more expensive stuff.

I have gotten to the point i dont even bother asking about names etc... besides i cant remember half the time if this frag was a super-purple-blue-eyed-monster-eater or a diabolical-green-oozing-toxic-waste-spill. I just keep an eye out for pieces that appeal to me and if it happens to be 20 dollars a frag or $200 it really doesn't matter as long as I think they are cool. Nobody will really care if you have a tank full of $10,00 dollars worth of frags or $500. People WILL notice a healthy tank full of mature corals and more importantly your enthusiasm about YOUR corals.

I agree with you here, some of the frags out there looks amazing as a 1" frag. Just afraid to spend the money and how it will look when it grows out.

With names coral are getting these days sounds like your buying some weed instead of corals

I mean I do live in Denver, those ideas might actually work since its part of the culture out here now lol
