Possibility of upgrading to a 210. At what point do you add extra floor supports? The hypothetical tank would be at the very front of my house (first floor) right off the cinder block frame of the house - If that matters at all.

Forgive the crude drawing!

I would ensure the tank is perpendicular to the floor jousts and placed so the jousts are evenly spaced under the tank

Do the floor joists run parallel to or perpendicular to the wall? If perpendicular, how long are the joists?

I just went and looked, and unfortunately with the placement I would like it to be, the joists would run parallel with the tank. However there is a second location where it could go that the joists would run perpendicular with the tank. That however would involve convincing the wife to move everything :-/ ;)

That is less than convenient. Is it a short span between supports where you are thinking about putting it?

The span is 16" center to center. Joists are 2"x7"s. As I went down to look, it dawned on me, I won't be able to use any floor jacks as the part of the basement directly under where the tank would be is an unfinished part and all dirt floor. Bummer because this potential tank was pretty much the deal of the century!

You can pour a few footings cheap, just a bit of work! I'm in the same situation and am going to have to put jacks under mine as well. Luckily I'm in concrete already though
