Hi,
I have about 4 pieces of medium sized Carib Sea life rock. They were cycled in my tank until I was able to get more interesting shapes. Then they were kept safely in garage. Am I able to put these pieces in my sump? Will this cause a mini cycle. The tank is 9 months old and I feel like I just turned the corner.
Thanks for the help.

If they were left to dry out I would rinse them and put one in and wait a week or so before doing the same and adding another to the sump. A lot of your answer lies with how big the tank is and how much active live rock is in there now. If it’s a smaller tank.....say 40 gallons or less I’d take it slow. If it’s a larger tank not that big of a deal.

Thanks S76. It’s around 135 total. I also hv plenty of live rock. I was wondering about benefits. I mean it’s just sittin’ .Why not use it, and maybe down the road use it for another tank..?

Yeah I hear ya. I thought the same thing and wound up putting a good bit of extra live rock in my sump. I doubt it will give you much benefit....especially if u already have a good bit of rock. What it may wind up doing is trapping more detritus in the sump. I would drop it in though, especially if you see another tank in the near future.

I had some extra rock laying around so I threw it in some water change water for a few months to let it cure a little and get some bacteria and then threw it in the sump a few weeks ago with no problems
