Extra pieces for the Nuvo 30L stand

I have been struggling to build the Nuvo 30L stand. This thing does not take the advertised 15mins. I’m throwing in the towel for tonight but I’m so confused on some extra pieces I have, pictured below. Does anyone know what these are for? Both the wood piece and the 4 metal pieces are not listed on the instructions. Has anyone built one of these who might be able to help?

The 4 metal clips and the wood are for the shelving.
Did u buy it separately? Mine does not come with it and the reason why it is not on the instructions.
Build the entire stand first then add this shelf last.
I will try to take a pic of my shelf so u could see.

Yes please. I didn’t order it separately it was just in the box. Once you said it was a shelf it seemed pretty intuitive how to put it in. I slid the clips into the track and tightened them and then put the shelf on top... and the shelf was too small and slid right through to the bottom. So I’m not sure if I put the clips in wrong(not sure how that’s possible) or if these pieces were put in by mistake and they are for a different tank.

They seem pretty similar but just in case, what direction is the screw part facing, inside or out?

Also as you own the stand I had one other question. The last step is to screw the top in one the corners. However the screws would be going into the plastic covers is that correct?

The shelf should not be short unless IM made a mistake.
