Extra Skimmer Piece?

I was giving all my equipment a vinegar soak and scrub and came across an "extra" piece while reassembling my skimmer. I can't figure out where this little clear tube goes (picture attached). It's a large Bubble Magus, unsure of the model. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure my silencer even opens, if it does, it's currently sealed very tightly. I've certainly never opened it since I bought the unit. It does have little tubes on both ends attached

The collection cup has a drain hole I can see. It may go their to drain the cup via a hose to a container.
