I have a few hot spots that need working with. When I say high light I am talking 900+ par. I am looking for experience with pieces in this + #par that have extended success. I have tried multiple attempts and many just bleach or die. I have a few mixed between a couple tenius, few milli's, a stag and a few acros that will hold and grow. I have only found a stag that actually will take this par and show a better color.

Any help in direction for candidates that will love that type of sunburn?

I think you will have to just use trial and error along with slow adaptation. Keep in mind according to this article a bit over 500 par for 12 hours is more daily light energy than 2" deep tide pool.

Had about 2years of trial n error.lol
thanks for the links - I will check um out.

I have had a frogspawn in over 1000 PAR before, it didn't like it, but grew slowly. It's right under a mp40 so it gets lots of flow.

some of the prettist corals I have ever seen are kept under extreme light very high in the tank we use to call it burning out the color. I had a very good friend who did this to a art. He lost some but the ones that adjusted simply beautiful. ( Hints the very high price corals )

Many of the pink corals can handle that kind of light. Pink Birdsnest, Pink Stylo, Pink Pocci. Also most all of the staghorns, Green Slimer, Blue Tort's etc...

Forgot about pocillopra - there are quite a few of those that have really high photoinhibition points, I don't recall seeing anything higher, but I don't remember 100 percent on that.

Here is a birdsnest in my frag tank that is under about 1000 PAR.

Thanks all
Haha on the pocillapora - I am still trying to kill the constant 20 baby starts still in the tank from the last 1.lol Poci bombs

So far I have achieved it with my g.i.joe stag, saramentosa, a pink and blue milli along with a watermellon, rainbowish tenius and a highlighter tenius, bali tri color acro and ultimate purple all in 1000+par#'s. My poor garf is stuck up there - it has learned how to grow to shade itself - the things we learn along the way.lol

Limeade shortcake is a beautiful sps and mine needs the highest light I can give it. Best growth and coloration under intense lighting.
Another one to consider is sunrise explosion milli same thing. Don't want to to many pics to your thread though[emoji41]

I have read, but not experienced, that the very thick branched acros such as humilis, monticulosa, or spathulata require extreme amounts of light.

I have also had great success with a Neon green brdsnest about 4 inches from the waters surface, but it recieves direct flow from the MP10's and is in constant motion. Was nervous at first, but it seems to love the flow and the light!!

Ya I went thru the BN, poci, n stylo phase.lol and they all love love love the par but have since removed most to step up my game.lol just need to go back to my 20k so I dont have to worry about it-haha
