Overdosing = EXTREME PE!!??

Hey all...So I just got back from class and noticed my top off dumped about 3.5- 4g of Kalk solution into my tank! (78g mixed reef) -But everything seems to be fine...actually all my LPS are SUPER inflated and even some SPS have polyps out farther than I've ever seen or heard!

Any thoughts??

Makes sense, when the kalk hit the water it probably precipitated a decent amount. These particles in the water (calcium carbonate I think) will cause increase PE because the corals are trying to cleanse themselves of the particles. I've heard something like that as an explanation.

Thanks -Logzor!

So I did a WC and now I'll wait...Any other confirmations on the "Cleansing" comment? -It seems to me that this response is possibly positive..It's hard to believe that by taking in more water (inflating) that the coral is trying cleanse itself?? The a-typical response to fluctuations in parameters is a reduction in polyp extension..
