Hello, I woke up to some distressing things. My new angelfish has one massive eye popping out of its head, although it still seems to be functional. I attached a picture. The angelfish is now eating vitamin enriched garlic pellets and flakes and picks at the rocks.

additionally, a clownfish I have had for 3 years has suddenly developed some sort of abrasions around his gills and one on the right side of his belly. It’s gotten much worse overnight. There is white flesh coming out of the abrasion and I can see his scales are flaking off around it as well. I have attached a picture of this as well. I wanted to note my clownfish pair have been excessively breeding lately, laying their 3rd batch in less than two months.

Please help me, anything is appreciated!

I have never had diseases or injuries like this before, so I really don’t know what I should do. FYI, I have an 88 gallon RSR with tons of growing thriving corals.

inhabitants:
1 yellow tang
2 clownfish
2 pajama cardinals
1 Valentini pufferfish
1 Royal gramma
1 coral beauty (new)
1 dwarf lion fish (new) - I know this is controversial but I’ve kept a very close eye on this one and have seen no aggression as he hides most of the day, only stays on the sand, and is 2.5 inches

Hi, SurfTrack!

If you could answer these questions (from the second sticky in the Fish diseases forum), those answers can help the #reefsquad and pros like @Jay Hemdal address your problem. (One sided popeye may be due to injury - bilateral popeye is more likely to be bacterial.)

In your first post, give us a synopsis of problem: The more complete information the information you can provide, the better. The information that often proves helpful is listed below:

Aquarium Parameters:
Aquarium type: Reef, Fish-only, Quarantine tank
Aquarium water volume
Filtration type
Lighting
How long has the aquarium been established?
Digital image of the aquarium under white light

Water quality (be sure to indicate what measurement units you are using)
Temperature
pH:
Salinity / specific gravity
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
Phosphorus
Copper
Other

In-depth information:
Have you lost any fish to this problem yet? (see below)
Are any invertebrates affected?
Respiration rate of affected fish (in gill beats per minutes, count for 15 seconds and multiply by 4)
Are the affected fish still feeding?
What remedies have you tried so far?
Digital image of the fish with the health issue, taken under white light
Short video of the fish (linked YouTube videos work well)
