I had an outbreak of ich. I have quarantined the fish. Now the tank, that only has crabs, snails, an anemone, and corals, is severely cloudy. With the morning light, looks like an algae bloom. Everything I am reading here is pointing towards bacteria, but no one has offered solutions, or I just missed it. I have read good and bad about UV. I have also read to let it cycle through. Does that mean the cloudyness will go away eventually? Roughly how long? My tank has been cloudy for 2 weeks now and I'm afraid it will affect the corals. It is a 60g frag tank with a 20g sump. Have Chaeto and just started a skimmer. Should I look into UV or just wait it out? Other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

copper kills invertes and corals

Did you treat with a copper based medication? If so, your invertabrates and corals may have died. Copper has that effect. There are filter pads that will absorb copper. Do this sooner than latter. Good luck. In addition, I'm not sure if copper can be absorbed by silicon or leach into live rock. Research this before you put any more coral/invertes once you clean up your present issues. Very Worst case, is that this tank is now "Fish Only".

I treated the ich in a quarantine tank where the clown fish are now. I was leaving this tank without fish for a few months to kill the ich cycle. No chemicals were added to this tank. :becky:

ok. Good. Maybe toolmandan is right, your anemone did dye. Oh fyi, Nem's harbor odidium(ick) normally. Really--google it. Let us know how things work out for you. Good Luck
