Hello, have had my aquarium up for almost 1.5 years now. Never experienced much for coral growth but have taken it as a learning experience. I recently picked up a magnesium test kit, after losing my old one and not testing for probably 6 months. During this time I was doing small biweekly water changes (10-15%). 200ppm was my result, twice. I work as a lab tech so I followed the directions to a T. Any way this is possible? Wouldn't all my coral be long dead by now? Possible bad kit lot? Any input appreciated, super confused at the moment. I had 0.13ml left in the syringe.

Recently got an explosion of coralline algae, which I never really had before, after I started dosing calcium. Could that have completely tanked my magnesium?

Common mistake, but the good news is that it was figured out before you started dumping loads of magnesium into your tank.
