For the past 4 weeks, the salinity probe is giving a flat reading on the system. Although it reads 36.1, the salinity in the system is 35ppt (refractometer). Besides needing calibration, is there normally no variance in the reading?

I am not a apex expert by any means, but that seems wrong to me. Mine fluctuates .1 ppt constantly. Is this a new apex? A apex that has been running for a while?

Being that it's technically a conductivity meter, and not really actually a salinity meter, I have noticed mine moves up and down with when the heaters turn on and off. So that really seems odd

Interesting. No fluctuation at all in my readings. The new Apex was setup around 2 months ago. After initial callibration, salinity measured 36.2 and at some point went to 36.1. I plan to dry and recalibrate this weekend......

Before you re-calibrate it, maybe unplug the probe, and then plug it back in, make sure it's in the whole way, wait a couple of min's then re-calibrate it. If that doesn't work, being that it's only 2 months old, I would contact neptune systems.

Great idea. I'll give it a shot.

That worked like a charm! Thanks for the advice.
Will monitor in the next few days and see what readings it shows.

Glad it worked. That connector is more likely to not be in the whole way or get bumped out. As it does not lock in like the other probes. Happy reefing.
