Im not sure the correct terminology for everything so im sorry ahead of time. I have a 90 gallon marineland tank with the corner piping. Today we turned the pump on for the first time and the hole that is in the too of the pipe that take water out is making a really loud sucking noise. Is there something i am doing wrong?

put a 90 degree fitting on the drain pipe, thus the water level will go down in the drain, and the noise will disappear.

So the drain with the hole in the top? Just put a fitting over it or take the piece off that has the hole in it and replace with a 90 degree elbow?

It’s hard to tell from the picture, and the video doesn’t work for me, but it looks like a Hofer Gurgle Buster setup, or its a Durso drain that’s missing some pieces. Search for these drains on the web or YouTube and you should find some tips fit dialing them in.

I have done the zip tie already but its not that pipe thats the problem. Its the one where the water is draining out of the tank. Mine is a straight pipe with a hole directly in the top sucking water in

Search for Hofer Gurgle Buster drain and see if it looks the same.

Gotcha. You need a couple of 90's or a tee/90/cap to get the return line below the water. It's the same setup in the youtube video. You will need to drill a hole in the top for a siphon break. Search for a durso drainpipe.
