Currently working with Anthony at Framing Tech on a stand for my 200g.

I’ve seen many successful threads using this product and also with Framing Tech. Any horror stories? I asked Anthony and they haven’t had a single issue. I’m pretty impressed with the analysis performed on the stands.

Just wondering before I spend $1k+ and place 200g of water 40” in the air in my brand new house.

I have been looking at their website / stands for about a good month now. I haven’t decided between an 8-foot to possibly 10-foot tank, but you’re right— at some point it’s a matter of trust to pull the trigger. Unless it ‘twists’ somehow, all the weight should be evenly distributed downward, and I’m sure it’s engineered properly for that— so at the very most I might consider some extra bracing; but I really do think ‘stock’ is sufficient.

Are you thinking of bumping it to a 30” wide tank? Also, what’s the shipping quote on what size stand (I haven’t been in touch with them yet)?

My tank is 60”x30” so yeah, we had to have the stock adjusted. The quote he sent back added bracing on the top to prevent racking (shifting from side to side, or that’s what I was told ). I also had them adjust the support beams on the backside from 1 to 2 because I have a center overflow that I would like being straight down from the back on the tank and under to the sump.

Shipping was quoted at around $125.

I think I’m going to pull the trigger. Still cheaper than two different steel stand quotes I received and much more modular.

Yes, "racking" was the word I was looking for.

I think you'll be happy with it, I really do. Definitely send pictures when you get it assembled. I meant to ask, somewhere I read that a rimless tank would go on a wooden top (possibly with the type of thin neoprene tank pads that are available as well), but that a tank with a frame would go directly on the extruded aluminum stand. I can't really see ANY tank being harmed by use of a board/pad... to me it seems a 'must' even with a framed tank. Did you happen to have that discussion with Anthony?
