Had a nice memory pop-up today from my first reef tank back in '14 when I was in CO...this was after "Fragtoberfest" a local event from The Southern Colorado Marine Aquarist Society based around the Springs...little did I know that about 2 months later while visiting my family for Christmas, my phone would start blowing up with Apex alerts about temperature and salinity...the tank was an IM30L, my first reef tank and my only AIO...first mistake was putting the heater in the return chamber... second was not having a backup to my ATO.... I had plenty of water, but the ATO controller failed and stopped topping it off.... once the water got low enough it stopped heating it as well.... and then finally the return pump was running dry... needless to say there was a lot of learning to be had that holiday.... experience is the best teacher.

Thank you for sharing this story - it is a good reminder. As the appropriately titled song Keeping the Faith says, "The good old days weren't always good, and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems". I'm always thankful for the chance to learn and make a difference in the future.

Another good shot popped up today from 5 years ago...I was very fortunate to have won some raffle prizes that day...even more so was the opportunity to help the club out with Angel's of America's Fallen organization
