Faded Micro

[Blue Water]

I recieved this micro about ten months ago. It has been growing well, but the new polyps on the sides are almost translucent and lacking color.
Will they ever color up?

That looks pretty weird. Wish I could help. What lighting are they under?

They look bleached to me??? But they don't look like they are getting enough light as they are on the side. Try moving them to higher light. I do notice that all my baby acan and micros it takes them a few weeks to color up.

Nothing right now, how ever there is some Anthelia on that side. I cut it back when it reaches the micro.

They are under what I would consider moderate PC lighting.

The strange thing is that the faded parts start right at the original cut line.

I'll try moving them to a higher light location.

I bet 2 things... #1 micros really like MH for the colors that I prefer.. I have found that PC and T5 tend to not be a Micros best freind so I keep to VHO and MH and secondly a fact that many forget.. Micros WILL do fine without being fed BUT for micros to truley THRIVE they must be feed a very irratating and meticulous task but feeding will cause them to have phenomenol growth and better colors.... JMHO

I'll color them up for you . My micros seem to like direct light from the halides. They are on the sand bed though.

Yes direct MH light is best... Micros will "survive" any lighting but they seem to prefer MH and VHO

Guess I better stop putting off that new setup I've been planing.
I do love my micros. And if they need more light then darn it they get it!

Yep mine are blasting with Halides too. Didn't know you have pc's
